GTA 6 has undoubtedly generated a huge amount of hype since the first trailer was released. In addition to the high expectations for various features in the game, some fans are already convinced that the open-world title will receive a very high average rating.
But can GTA 6 even achieve the perfect 100 percent rating? At first glance, this seems rather unlikely, as no game has ever received such a rating.
A user called Synth Potato asked this question on X and believes that the chances of a perfect score are pretty high. In his opinion, Rockstar Games is obviously building on the basic framework of Red Dead Redemption 2, which was rated a proud 97 percent, when developing GTA 6.
However, the western title is still three points away from the perfect 100 percent. To date, only one game has reached this mark – the action role-playing game The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time from Nintendo, which was rated 99% in 1998.
These are the best-rated games of all time
- 99%: The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time
- 98%: SoulCalibur
- 98%: Grand Theft Auto IV
- 97%: Super Mario Galaxy
- 97%: Super Mario Galaxy 2
- 97%: The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild
- 97%: Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 3
- 97%: Red Dead Redemption 2
- 97%: Grand Theft Auto V
- 97%: Metroid Prime
- 97%: Grand Theft Auto III
The list of top-rated games of all time contains a total of four titles from Rockstar Games, including three from the successful Grand Theft Auto series. These seem to be good prerequisites for GTA 6!
But can a game ever reach 100 percent? Theoretically, it is possible, but the probability is low, as games are always influenced by subjective elements. There are even critical voices for games like The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time.
Game ratings depend on various factors, and standards have changed over time. Today’s games are rated by modern standards, and the perception of games is strongly influenced by personal preferences and nostalgia.
