GTA 6 is likely to be quite large and extensive in almost every respect. So it’s no wonder that we’re looking forward to the final map. But no matter how big the game world turns out to be, Rockstar Games has to fill it sensibly and, above all, excitingly!
But to be honest, I have absolutely no doubts about that. On the one hand, because the developer has done a pretty impressive job with previous games like GTA 5 and Red Dead Redemption 2, and on the other, because the leaks from September 2022 have already given us a little taste of what we can expect in 2025.
And I’m talking about the World Events in GTA 6. The leaks show that there will be no fewer than 1368 such World Events in GTA 6.
For comparison: GTA 5 has around 60 such random events. There are already so many in Red Dead 2 that it’s not even worth counting them all, just look at how full the map is when they’re all displayed.
In addition, these events are repeated from time to time, but due to their sheer number, this is usually hardly negative.
And yes, I really have spent a lot of time in Red Dead 2 and I can assure you that I still come across events that I haven’t seen or played yet!
And in GTA 6, the variety of missions, side quests, random encounters and other events will be at least as extreme.
Three of these events, which were found in the leaks and which I find particularly exciting, are presented below.
Marvel’s Man-Thing
I personally find the event called Farm Monster Man the most exciting.
Some assume that this is a reference to the fictional character Man-Thing, who belongs to the Marvel universe and was created by Stan Lee, among others.
Theodore Ted Sallis, a former teacher at Empire State University and professor of bilogy, one day becomes Man-Thing, a monstrous humanoid creature that cannot die, as the result of an accident during an experiment. When it finds itself in a swamp, the creature can simply regrow lost body parts.
And now think about what larger swamp area there could be in GTA 6?
That’s right, the Everglades, which are located in the south of the US state of Florida or Leonida and cover over 6,000 km². The perfect area for a swamp monster to spread fear and terror!
Everglades Plane Crash
Due to its sheer size and fascinating landscape, the Everglades offer even more space for exciting events in GTA 6.
One of the events found in the data goes by the name of Everglades Plane Crash.
So maybe we’ll crash over the Everglades during a mission in GTA 6 and then have to somehow try to survive in the swamp area. We might even have to deal with the swamp monster!
And yes, such an event would even be based on true events!
One well-known example is Eastern Air Lines Flight 401, which crashed in the Everglades on December 29, 1972. The plane, a Lockheed L-1011 TriStar, was en route from New York to Miami and crashed during its approach to Miami International Airport, about 29 kilometers west of Miami.
Of the 176 people on board, 101 were killed, including the captain, the co-pilot and the flight engineer.
After the accident, many of the aircraft parts used were reused in other aircraft, leading to stories of alleged ghostly apparitions on board these planes.
This gave rise to numerous myths and legends about the ghost of Flight 401!
Explore an abandoned mine
The third event that we could come across in Gta 6 is also spooky.
The Mine Shaft Discovery entry clearly indicates that we can explore a mine in GTA 6.
And yes, apart from the Everglades, the Keys and the huge city of Miami, there is much more to discover in the state. Florida is known for its phosphate deposits, and the largest mines of this kind are located in the region around the city of Lakeland in the so-called Bone Valley.
The name comes from the fact that many fossil remains have been found in this valley. But it also sounds pretty cool and fits in with an old abandoned mine that we might be able to explore in GTA 6.
There are also mines like this in GTA 5 and Red Dead 2, which are pretty atmospheric right away, but you can’t do much in them as far as I know. I’d really love it if you could explore one of these mines in GTA 6 as part of a quest and maybe have a supernatural encounter or two.
But what do you think about such events, are you really up for it? Let me know in the comments.
