So far, GTA 6 has not even been officially unveiled by developer Rockstar Games. Nevertheless, fans would almost certainly pay a higher retail price for the upcoming open world title than is usually the case with video games.
The game website Niche Gamer cites a concrete price, arguing that Take-Two Interactive and Rockstar Games would have to somehow try to recoup the enormous development costs of more than 2 billion US dollars.
This information comes from a leaked conversation between developers.
GTA 6 development has probably already cost 2 billion
Based on the huge leak last year, it is also assumed that GTA 6 has been in development since 2014. It is therefore hardly surprising that a lot of resources such as working time and money have already been invested in the game.
How much will GTA 6 cost?
Specifically, there is talk of customers having to pay around 150 US dollars for the PS5 and Xbox Series X|S versions of GTA 6. If this is true, players would have to pay around twice as much for the title than is otherwise usual for a full-price title.
Now the question arises as to whether there is any truth to this rumor and whether Take-Two/Rockstar could really demand such a high price. After all, this is likely to unleash a pretty big shitstorm.
Ultimately, however, the majority of fans and players would probably spend considerably more money to be able to play GTA 6.
When will GTA 6 be released? It is still completely unclear when GTA 6 could be released. A supposedly genuine voice message from Take-Two CEO Strauss Zelnick may now have revealed the dates for the unveiling and release.
